Sohkitehew derives from the Cree language meaning “S/he has a strong, brave heart.”.
The Sohkitehew program is an ongoing mentorship program designed, and led by program participants. This program seeks to reduce the unique barriers for Indigenous founders in the agri-food sector by supporting personal and business growth. FEAD facilitates this program with the topic and speaker requests coming from participants.
The program is run virtually over Zoom and open to food founders across Canada.
