This program aims to equip food service entrepreneurs seeking to transform recipes into retail-ready products with the essential skills and knowledge. The goal is to guide them in navigating the process of getting their creations onto store shelves while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements established by local and national governing bodies.

Increase understanding of principles of food safety and safe food production techniques
Explore opportunities for and application of sustainable food business practices
Understand the basics of the psychology of food branding, purchasing behavior, and best practices for building a food-specific marketing strategy
Learn the methods behind scaling a restaurant or food service business with efficient, and proven business practices
Understand and apply principles of food packaging and nutrition labeling requirements as per the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
Entrepreneurs will leave with the basic knowledge to be able to finance, package, label, brand, and market their own food products.
Application
